Joseph Mevorah has joined Empire Valuation Consultants’ Portfolio Valuation practice as a Senior Managing Director. Joe is a seasoned professional with a deep knowledge of Financial Institutions, and the securitization markets in particular.   He has over twenty-five years of combined Wall Street and advisory experience and has strong relationships with large global financial institutions, US community bank sector senior management, US Credit Unions and both Federal and State regulators.  Throughout his career he has advised both senior management and boards of directors of firms ranging from the largest global financial institutions (including American Express, MasterCard, AXA Financial, Dresdner Bank) to regional and small depository institutions.  Moreover, he has advised senior US Regulators, including the Chairman of the FDIC, and both the Federal Reserve and the United States House Committee on Financial Services (aka the House Banking Committee.

Specific experience includes, raising billions of dollars in capital for US Domestic community and regional banks, assisted in the liquidation of over $2 billion in bank assets for both US Banks and multinational institutions, provided valuation advice on residential mortgage portfolios for Fannie Mae (FNMA) and assisted FreddieMac (FHLMC) in the determination of liability arising from remaining representations and warranties in a select portion of its portfolio.

Joe has also provided regulatory advice to the US branches of some of the largest Korean owned banks as well as advised the Central Bank of Iceland on best practices, asset valuation and liquidation during the Icelandic Bank Crisis, and valuation of illiquid bank assets including but not limited to, taxi medallion loans, auto loans, unsecured consumer loans, non-performing loans, residential solar loans.

Prior to his role at Empire, Joe was at Kroll (f.k.a. Duff & Phelps) in the Alternative Asset Advisory practice. While there, he continued to expand his relationships with many of the largest US Credit Unions. In that capacity he did valuation work on both whole businesses as well as loan and securities portfolios, as well as provided advisory services related to loan review, process re-engineering and development/enhancement of policies and procedures.

In his spare time, Joe enjoys spending time with his family. He is an avid skier who also enjoys hiking and traveling.
