Beginning in 2013, Empire's founding partner, Terry Griswold, and his wife, Carol, began a series of mission trips to Guatemala. Once a year, in conjunction with Bethel Ministries International, the Griswolds assembled groups of about ten people to accompany them. In 2014, they build two homes; customized and dispensed 50 wheelchairs; visited an orphanage; and distributed food, clothing and school supplies to community residents. Additional donations from Empire funded a new pump system which, when installed, furnished a small village with clean, safe drinking water.
